Cutting his teeth at house parties in the late 80s, he burst onto the scene in ‘91 as a founding member of DJ collective The Chocolate Factory, playing the likes of Wunder Bar, Limelight and Tunnel, finally earning his first residency at ‘Together’ at The Roxy, sharing the stage with NYC House royalty: Danny Tenaglia, Louie Vega and Roger Sanchez. Finally, we couldn’t round up this list without mentioning the Flashmob label release ‘Maori’ by Max Millan that finished #3 in our top Tech tracks of the year for 2020.īorn in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Joeski is a New York DJ through and through, with the credentials to match. Further to that, he came in with a late entry, ‘Who’ featuring Kevin Knapp that dropped late November and it’s one we can sense is still going to be selling into early next year. His latest and greatest this year include his ‘Deeper Underground’ release on Glasgow Underground, ‘Kick It’ and ‘Parrado’ via his own Flashmob Records and his remix of ‘I Can’t Sleep’ by Anabel Sigel (Flashmob LTD). It’s been 5 years now since Alessandro Magani took the Flashmob project solo, and what a 5 years it’s been, from the days of ‘Need In Me’ through to ‘Brick House’ and now to 5 Flashmob records in this year’s top 200 Tech House list. There’s rarely a year when Flashmob doesn’t appear in these lists in some form or another, and this year he sneaks into our top 10 for Tech thanks to a whole host of great music from himself and his label.
